What forms of Photo ID are acceptable?
Voting in England on 7.5.2026
Defence Identity Cards (MOD form 90) and HM Armed Forces Veteran Card (MOD form 100) are acceptable.

It doesn't matter if your photo ID is out of date, provided the photo still looks like you and your name on the ID is the same as on the electoral register.
Voting in Northern Ireland on 7.5.2026

Voting in Scotland or Wales on 7.5.2026
Photo ID is not required for elections in Wales or Scotland on 7th May 2026 (but is required for all elections to the UK Westminster Parliament).
If you have no Photo ID to vote in England or NI
It's now too late to apply for free alternative photo ID in time for the elections on 7.5.2026. However, if your photo ID has been stolen, lost, damaged or destroyed you may be able to obtain an Emergency Proxy Vote for someone else (with their own photo ID) to vote on your behalf. If so you should contact your local electoral services team immediately.
