Cuts may render armed forces 'unable to deliver'

MPs are warning that cuts to the armed forces may leave them unable to deliver what is asked of them after 2015. In a toughly-worded report, the Defence Select Committee says it rejects the Prime Minister's assurance that Britain retains a "full spectrum" defence capability, and warns that without firm commitments to improved funding in the very near future, Britain's politicians risk "failing" the country's military. BritishForcesNews reports (03 Aug).

Welcome to British Armed Forces Federation - BAFF - independent all-ranks staff association for members of any branch of the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, British Army and Royal Air Force, including the reserves. All current UK service personnel of any rank are eligible to join and, as BAFF is not a political organisation, to take an active part in its activities if they wish. Former regular or reserve forces personnel are also very welcome.
