British Armed Forces Federation (BAFF) has been working since 2006 as an independent association of serving and former members of the UK Armed Forces.
BAFF has operated for nearly 20 years as a registered not-for-profit Company Limited by Guarantee but, as of Spring 2026, is in the process of converting to an unincorporated association to continue and to develop, as far as possible, the activities, rights and responsibilities of the former company.
BAFF's business model remains a low-cost membership organisation, and it claims no authority it doesn't possess.
BAFF always aims to be constructive and cooperative with others, but isn't a front for undeclared political, commercial or foreign influences.
Right now BAFF is operating more as a campaigning than as a servicing organisation.
We don't currently offer access to the range of outside professional services that we did originally - although we are always open to new approaches which could benefit our members.
Our campaigns include working towards official recognition of workable, genuinely representative arrangements for armed forces personnel.
