The House of Commons public bill committee, which is considering the Armed Forces Commissioner Bill currently passing through Parliament, has invited evidence from anyone with "relevant expertise and experience" or a special interest in the Bill to submit their views by 17 December 2024.
That's an unusually short deadline, and it would be safer to regard Monday 10 December as the practical deadline, because the announcement emphasizes:
The sooner you send in your submission, the more time the Committee will have to take it into consideration.
The Public Bill Committee will scrutinise the Bill line by line. The first sitting of the Public Bill Committee is expected to be on Tuesday 10 December and the Committee will report by 5pm on Tuesday 17 December. However, please note that when the Committee concludes its consideration of the Bill it is no longer able to receive written evidence and it can conclude earlier than the deadline of 5pm on Tuesday 17 December. You are strongly advised to submit your written evidence as soon as possible.
The proposal to establish an Armed Forces Commissioner was included in the Labour Party's General Election Manifesto, and reported on the BAFF website at the time.
