It's no longer 'Almost goodbye', it IS now goodbye to BAFF (2006) Ltd – but not goodbye to BAFF.
The paperwork for voluntary liquidation of the company has now been submitted.
All this is purely to remove the rising annual cost of maintaining a registered company. Instead we are forming an association whose constitution is on similar lines to the previous BAFF constitution.
If any of this matters to you, and you are a member or former member of the UK armed forces but not a current BAFF member, you should consider joining or re-joining BAFF now while the £5 special subscription is still available.
All existing membership subscriptions continue. 'BAFF military supporter' free registrations are still valid for the time being, but supporters are encouraged to log in and upgrade now.
Alternatively, you can log in and cancel your registration.
Organisational aims and membership remain the same, but the change is also being treated as an opportunity to develop in new directions. A company would not be difficult, or unduly expensive, to re-form or re-register in the event of being useful agin in thr future.
We're still working on some remaining paperwork. In outline, the assets of the company have been acquired by interim trustees who, in turn, have taken responsibility for the settlement of final bills i.e. the accountants' charges for the last year of operation and the voluntary liquidation of the company.
The interim trustees now hold the assets, mainly comprising the website, the logo and other intellectual property, to await the instructions of the re-formed Executive Council who, in turn, will be appointed by the membership. A continuing set of trustees will be required at that stage.
The current interim trustees are D Young and T Stevens. Additional volunteers to be trustees and/or members of the reformed Executive Council would be very welcome. Volunteers must be full members. Volunteers to be interim trustees should be already known to BAFF.
